“Seen it before, it’s in your other hand!”

Every now and again there is someone in the audience who is set on destroying your credibility. A real sour-puss who is determined not be baffled and wants to spoil it for everyone else and prove that there is no such thing as magic
What do you do?

Well, you could grab him by the head and then....but even though you feel like making them swallow your magic wand, it is very important that you keep your reputation intact, and stay calm

Your main goal is to keep those people that were enjoying the magic trick on your side.  They will be very forgiving and want you to do more even though they may have doubts in what you were just doing.

The best thing to do is to introduce humour and laugh.  It doesn’t matter how embarrassed or exposed you may feel now that the magic trick secret maybe out of the bag.

Try explaining that magic can only be seen by those who believe, and since there was a non-believer the trick obviously couldn’t work.   “It would seem that someone doesn’t want to witness any magic”, and apologize to everyone, putting the onus on the fool who made the interruption. 

Ask your audience if they would like you to continue, believe me, everyone will be disappointed and upset at the interruption and with a bit of luck they will even shut then up for you.

If the nuisance continues then you walk away.  That’s right; you just simply walk away and save your magic for another day.  You shouldn’t try and perform any other magic tricks as it will become a guessing game after each trick and you will lose all credibility.

This is the best thing you can do.  The next time people that were there before will want to see your magic tricks and this is the best audience. The people that want to believe in magic!
